Season
GGP coincides with the school year calendar kicking off in September and
concluding in May.  The 2007-2008 season schedule is now available.

Locations, Days, and Times
Beginning 2007-2008, orchestra rehearsals and performances are held at School of the Arts, 555 Portola Drive, unless otherwise noted. Rehearsals take place on Mondays after school. Classes begin at 4:00 p.m.

Orchestra concerts are held three times a year on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Chamber Ensemble Concerts are held on Sunday afternoons four times a year at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church at 201 Eucalyptus Drive at 19th Ave. See the season schedule for details.

* Many Camerata students have finished the GGP Theory Program

Scholarships

All students receive a partial scholarship, as tuition does not cover the full price of participation. Students may apply for additional aid in the form of scholarships based on:

  • Financial need
  • Orchestral need

Orientation

Orientation for the 2007-2008 Season will take place 5 p.m. Monday, September 10, at San Francisco's School of the Arts. All interested GGP students and at least one adult per family are required to attend the Orientation Meeting.


Parent Participationparent volunteers

Parent participation helps to keep fees low. Each family agrees to complete 20 hours per year in volunteer work. Sign-ups occur at the Orientation Meeting on the third Monday of the season. People who prefer to contribute money instead of labor may do so, at the rate of $300 per year.

Jobs include helping with receptions, setting up chairs for rehearsals and performances, hosting chamber groups, typing, etc. Contact Barbara Bella at (415) 986-7762 or bbella@bbasf.com to find out how you can use your talents and energy to help the GGP.

Uniforms
more ggp kids Concert Dress for all orchestra members is: GGP sweatshirt, white shirt with collar, black pants or skirt. The Camerata Orchestra wears all black.
